Juggalo Poems Come Easily For Those Raised on ICP

There's no shortage of bands out there that can point to poetry being a large part of their careers. After all, song lyrics are poetry all dressed up with sound. However there aren't many bands out there that can point to poetry not only being a part of their careers, but also one of the ways their fan base (many of whom were artistically raised on ICP's horror rap) displays appreciation towards the band.

Insane Clown Posse is one of the few bands out there lucky enough to have fans that appreciate the band and its movement so much that Juggalo poems are a regular part of life for those raised on ICP.

The label "Juggalo Poems" for these written outpourings of emotion is a little misleading, because Juggalettes who too were raised on ICP are more than capable of writing outstanding Juggalo poems as well. Both Juggalettes and their male, Lo counterparts who write Juggalo poems are immersed in the family, and often write about what it means to be part of the movement.

When Juggalettes and Juggalos aren't writing what it's like to have been raised on ICP, they often write Juggalo poems about every day occurrences and how their horror rap family and values helps them through the grind.

Oddly enough (or not, depending on how you look at it), Juggalo poems often deal with the darker side of life and being raised on ICP. Also, it's hard not to miss the religious themes of retribution and judgment displayed in most Juggalo poems. For instance, THE Juggalo poem that most Lo's and Juggalettes know as ICP creed contains this excerpt:

I am an individual guided by light

I know who I am, and who I want to be,

I recognize that the path to Shangri La

Requires an open mind

I shall not judge

I am part of a family

I shall love my family as I would my blood

I shall do my family no harm as I know

As I know what has been done to others shall surely be done to me

Light, Shangri La, and the golden rule of treating others how you want to be treated are all themes of many religions and are also found in this Juggalo poem. For any parents out there, take note. Your kids' interest in being raised on ICP or becoming a Juggalette might not be as scary as you think! After all, religions teach similar values when you boil it down.

In fact, Juggalo poems written by 'Lo's and Juggalettes raised on ICP are often a great way for them to express their emotions. Juggalo poems found online range in topic from Juggalette-caused heartache to dealing with a painful emotion like death.

It's not uncommon for Juggalettes and Lo's to honor their fallen family members with Juggalo poems. After all, all those in the family share similar experiences involved with being raised on ICP. One Juggalette's pain is another Juggalette's pain, and that shared catharsis is expressed beautifully through Juggalo poems.
